Chair Lois MacCormick - 
Chair MacCormick is a long-time resident of the Village of Bible Hill where she resides with her husband Murray.  They have two grown children and four grandchildren.  Lois is very actively involved in her community and has servied as a Village Commissioner from 1992-1997 and from 2011 to present day.  She is the owner of MacCormick's Personal Tax Services.  Lois has served as a member of the Colchester Community Health Board for years.  In the past she was involved with the Recreation Association, Block Parent Program for Colchester County and Meals on Wheels.  Lois is pleased to once again be part of the Village Commission team since 2011.    Please contact Chair MacCormick by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. Deputy Chair Donna Van Kroonenburg - Deputy Chair Van Kroonenburg has lived in the Village of Bible Hill for most of her life.  She is married to Leo and has two daughters and one son.  Donna is a member of the Bible Hill Fire Brigade Ladies Auxiliary.  She was a Sparks, Brownie, and Pathfinder leader for the Village for many years.  She is also a member of the Immaculate Conception Church where she is a member of the Catholic Women's League.  She loves to golf in Debert on Wednesday nights during the season as well as loves spending time at Brule Beach.  She is currently employed with Colchester East Hants Health Authority.  "I have the best interest of the residents and families of this beautiful village when I am sitting at the Commission table."  Currently, Donna is the Commissioner responsible for Recreation and Cultural Services.  You can contact Deputy Chair Van Kroonenburg by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. Commissioner Mitchell Bell - Commissioner Bell was raised in nearby North River and has enjoyed many years of family ties to Bible Hill through grandparents and sets of great-grandparents.  The decision came easy for Mitchell to make Bible Hill his first home following earning his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree from Mount Saint Vincent University in 2012 (Dean’s list standing).  Mitchell subsequently wrote the Uniform Final Evaluation in 2014 and qualified for his Chartered Accountant designation (CPA, CA) in 2015.   Mitchell is a senior accountant with national accounting, consulting and tax firm MNP LLP (formerly wbli) in Truro which has provided him great experience working under exposure to clients in a variety of industries.  Commissioner Bell was elected to the Bible Hill Village Commission in September 2016.  Mitchell currently Chairs the Environmental Services Committee, which is responsible for water systems, sewer systems, storm water drainage, urban forest and environmental protection/development, Vice-Chairs the Transportation Committee, which is responsible for maintenance and improvements to sidewalks and is the Bible Hill representative for the Chamber of Commerce. Commissioner Dwane Mellish - Commissioner Mellish as been a resident of Bible Hill since 1978 and has always been active in the community as a volunteer. Selected Examples of Leadership Positions: 37 years in the Bible Hill Fire Brigade, 10 years as Bible Hill Fire Chief, Former Chair of the Dalhousie Agricultural Campus Alumni Association including a period of transition from NSAC to Dal-AC; Former Executive Member of Colchester Firefighters Association, Former President of East Court Road Parent-Teacher Group.  Dwane grew up on a farm in Prince Edward Island and first came to Bible Hill to attend the Nova Scotia Agricultural College, now the Dalhousie Agricultural Campus.  After completing his B.Sc (Univ. of Guelph) and M.Sc (Univ. of Saskatchewan) studies, returned to Bible Hill in 1978. Dwane works as the Operations Officer at Dairy Farmers of Nova Scotia, which he balances with serving as an active member of the Bible Hill Fire Brigade. Dwane's commitments to the Village of Bible Hill were recognized in 2010 when he and Debbie received the Outstanding Community Service Award.  Dwane met his wife Debbie at NSAC, and after completing his studies, they returned to Bible Hill, where they've lived since, raising their three daughters--Courtney, Kendra, and Maranda.  Commissioner Mellish is the Chair of Transporatation Services and can be reached by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots.
