  • Learn bike history
  • Repair 2 bikes to keep at the end of the program! One for an adult and one for a child

Music Jamboree Saturday March 1st

The next Music Jamboree is this Saturday March 1st at the Village Hall from 7 - 9pm.

The Jamborees include local live music, tea, coffee all for no cost.  A great way to enjoy a evening.

Colchester East Hants After School Program Leader

Overview:

Are you an energetic person who values physical activity and enjoys working with children and youth? The Colchester East Hants After School Committee is recruiting After School Program Leaders for our Spring 2014 Session. Recreation departments from five municipalities in Colchester East Hants counties are partnering with the Chignecto Central Regional School Board to deliver fun, interactive programs in ten schools within the region.  We are looking for passionate, energetic, mature leaders with an interest in developing leadership skills to lead our programs.  The programs will be physical activity-focused, with elements of play, self-leadership and teamwork. The programs take place directly after school, and we are looking for leaders who want to be a part of a dynamic team.

Who we are looking for:

As an After School Program Leader, you will play a strong role in the design, promotion and delivery of after school programs for youth ages 10-14.  You have an interest in working with children/youth, and you understand the importance of being a positive role model. You enjoy physical activity and/or sport and/or recreation and are interested in learning new skills around youth engagement and delivering quality programs which promote being active for life.  

You enjoy working in a team environment, and will be a good teammate to your co-workers, the Regional After School Coordinator and After School Committee. You can express your ideas, solve problems, and you have strong communication skills with other team members.

Golden Long Term Service Award - The Golden Long Term Service Award is presented to those residents of Bible Hill who have made contributions through worldwide community volunteer service for a period of fifty years or longer of which at least 25 years of the volunteer service took place in the Village of Bible Hill.

Long Term Service Award - The Long Term Service Award is presented to those residents of Bible Hill who have made contributions through worldwide community volunteer service for a period of twenty-five years or longer of which at least 12 years of the volunteer service took place in the Village of Bible Hill.

Young Achievers Service Award - The Young Achievers Service Award is presented to young people (18 and under) who have made an outstanding contribution in volunteer community service in Bible Hill in the past year. There is no limit to the number of awards presented each year, or the number of times a person may receive the award.

Outstanding Community Service Award -The Outstanding Community Service Award is presented to those who have made an outstanding contribution in volunteer community service in Bible Hill in the past year. There is no limit to the number of awards presented each year, or the number of times a person may receive the award.

Countywide Public Gathering on People-Powered Transportation

We want to know what you think about people-powered transportation, find out what holds you back, and what would motivate you to walk or bike to places in your local community. 

What we learn will lead to a special project this summer, supporting our communities to be healthy, connected and livable.

Happening in partnership between the Town of Truro, Municipality of Colchester, Village of Bible Hill, N.S. Dept. of Energy (NS Moves) and N.S. Dept. of Health and Wellness.
