Zumba, Zumba Gold and Yoga Starting soon at Bible Hill Village Hall
It's back to fun and fitness at the Bible Hill Village Hall with something for everyone!
Zumba is back starting September 8th on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 8:50 to 9:50am.
*NEW* A little change to Wednesday’s Zumba class, as we will be adding a toning and an abdominal/stretching section to the class for a bit more strengthening and stretching still with all the Latin and popular music that we love so much. Our Monday and Friday classes will be one hour of Zumba party dance fun. You can purchase a 10-punch pass, pay per class or chose a one month unlimited Zumba option.
Zumba Gold resumes on Tuesday, September 9th at 1:30pm and runs for an 8 week session. A fun way for active older adults and newcomers to Zumba to have a safe, fun, effective, slower paced Zumba experience with all the flair and style of a regular Zumba class.
Yoga resumes Friday, September 12th at 10:30am and also runs for an 8 week session. Our nurturing yoga practice welcomes all yogis; beginner to experienced and you will be greeted with opened arms and hearts and encouraged to practice at your own pace.
We are adding another yoga class to our schedule! Come join us on Thursday's from 5-6pm. Call Celeste to register.
Our very popular outdoor Yoga in The Park (Clover Drive Park) class on Wednesday mornings at 10:30 am will be continuing until the end of September, weather permitting.

Green Bin Pick-up in Bible Hill
- Published: July 22, 2014, 2:40 pm
The following is a response from the Waste Reduction Manager at the County of Colchester to an inquiry from a resident inquiring about weekly green bin pick up.
"Thank you for taking the time to send us your email. The Municipality of Colchester has four years left in the contract for Municipal Curbside Solid Waste Collection. It expires 2018. Any time a contract is open for renegotiation the costs tend to dramatically increase and presently Council has not directed staff to investigate this option.
The County has had a curbside collection program since 1996 in the urban core and the program has been very successful. Unfortunately, the nuisance of insects and odours is most problematic this time of year. There are a number of methods you can use to manage them, wrapping food waste in paper (newspaper flyers, paper bags from grocery or liquor stores) there are also paper bags available for purchase. "Bag To Earth" is an example that is available at most grocery, hardware and retail stores. Also, using leaves and grass in layers to cover food waste helps mitigate odors as well. The sure thing that works is keeping meat, turkey & Chicken bones, lobster shells, fish etc really odourous materials in the freezer in a paper bag until collection day.
The Town of Truro has negotiated the weekly collection for green carts in their recent curbside collection contract. I would be confident in saying that staff will be asking for a pricing option in the next collection contract tender for weekly summer collection of green carts, to evaluate if it is fiscally responsible."
