Regional Equity and Anti-Racism Strategy
Our Commitment to an Inclusive Region
The Village of Bible Hill is committed to creating a community where everyone feels respected, safe, and valued. As part of this commitment, we have partnered with the Town of Truro, the Municipality of the County of Colchester, and the Town of Stewiacke to develop a Regional Equity and Anti-Racism Strategy. This work supports the goals of the provincial Dismantling Racism and Hate Act and reflects our shared responsibility to advance equity and inclusion across the region.
How the Strategy Was Developed
The strategy was informed by early community engagement supported by Waking the UnConscious, and shaped further by the four municipalities to reflect regional priorities, local experiences, and a commitment to accessibility and inclusion.
What the Strategy Aims to Do
The Regional Equity and Anti-Racism Strategy provides practical steps to help reduce racism, strengthen equity, and support inclusion in our communities. It outlines priority areas that will guide our work in the coming years, including community engagement, internal practices, public services, and regional collaboration.
The strategy gives us a clear path forward and reflects what we heard from the community during the engagement process.
Ongoing Regional Collaboration
Implementing the strategy will take continued partnership between all four municipalities. The Regional Project Team will support this work, track progress, and help guide key initiatives. As the strategy moves into action, residents will have opportunities to stay involved and informed.
