In an effort to assist all Nova Scotians in increasing their knowledge and awareness of Mi’kmaw culture, history and heritage, a Mi’kmaq History Month Committee was established to promote and encourage educational and cultural activities during the month of October.

The Mi’kmaq History Month Committee, lead in the interim by the The Confederacy of Mainland Mi’kmaq, draws on the expertise of representatives from the Mi’kmaq Grand Council, Nova Scotia Mi’kmaw communities and organizations, as well as the Federal and Provincial governments.

This website has been developed in order to share information and increase awareness of the Mi’kmaw culture, history and heritage, in particular, Treaty Day and Mi’kmaq History Month.

We welcome you to share and promote the information on our culture, history and heritage and encourage you to join us in the celebrations."

Trail and Park Closures

As we look ahead to the weekend storm, which currently has 2 weather alerts including a wind warning and tropical cyclone information statement, we ask the public to please keep out of parks, green spaces and trails in Bible Hill until further notice next week.

With heavy rain and wind on the way, there is high probability of washouts and fallen or partially fallen trees.

Trail, park, and green-space closures will allow our maintenance team to assess conditions after the weather event has passed to ensure that these properties are safe for public use.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation. Stay safe.

Main Street Sidewalk Renovation

Starting July 4 until August 2, the sidewalk on Main Street, Bible Hill (between Century Honda and Windsor Avenue) will be closed for construction.

For those with accessibility needs which may be impacted by the closure, please get in touch with the Village office to discuss how we can accommodate.

Traffic Alerts:

Main Street will have a one-way traffic detour which Nova Scotia Department of Public Works has approved. Traffic normally in the lane closest to the sidewalk will be detoured at Pictou Road to Vimy Road and Farnham Road, rejoining Main Street at Park Street.

Signage and other traffic control measures will be in place to guide drivers. Please be cautious when entering the work area, as traffic will be flowing in only one direction.

The contractor will do their best to minimize driveway disruptions and provide gravel ramps for access. Please drive slowly on the ramps.

Avoid parking on Main Street or the detour route to reduce congestion.

For more information or concerns, contact Village of Bible Hill at 902-893-8083 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Thank you for your patience as we improve Main Street!
