Happy African Hertitage Month 2025
Happy African Hertitage Month 2025!
Join us in celebrating African Heritage Month—a time to honor the rich history, culture, and contributions of African Nova Scotians and Black communities across the Province.
This year’s theme, “Legacy in Action: Celebrating Black Brilliance”, recognizes the enduring legacy, excellence, and innovation of Black communities, celebrating the past while shaping the future. It highlights the strength, resilience, and brilliance that continue to inspire generations.
Let’s spotlight:
• African Heritage Month in Nova Scotia acknowledges over 400 years of Black history in the province.
• Nova Scotia is home to 52 historic African Nova Scotian communities, each with deep-rooted legacies.
• Traditional celebrations include music, storytelling, dance, and community gatherings, fostering pride and cultural appreciation.
Let’s take this time to reflect, learn, and celebrate the incredible achievements of Black Nova Scotians and the broader Black community. May this month inspire reflection, empowerment, and unity.
