We are now accepting nominations for the Volunteer of the Year and Youth Volunteer of the Year award. These awards honor individuals our groups who have made an exceptional impact through their volunteer efforts in Bible Hill. Open to residents or those volunteering in Bible Hill, this award celebrates dedication, generosity, and a lasting contribution to making Bible Hill a better place.
Award recipients will be recognized at our Annual Volunteer Awards Celebration and have their names inscribed on a Memorial Plaque displayed prominently in the Village Office.

Audit Committee Member Recruitment
Village of Bible Hill welcomes applications from Bible Hill residents to serve as a volunteer on its Audit Committee for a two-year term.
The Audit Committee meets each year on the second Tuesday of May at 6:00 PM and the second Tueday of December at 5:30pm and whenever circumstances demand such a meeting. Applicants must be financially literate and not be a Village Commissioner, employee, or immediate family member of either, and must not be a member of any other Committee of the Village. Applications must be in writing on the prescribed form and may be mailed, emailed, or submitted in-person to the Village office.

We're hiring a Spare Crossing Guard! 🦺🚦🚗
Do you have some spare time? Do you like to work with children while enjoying the fresh air and being physically active? You can do all those things while making a difference in your community!
Village of Bible Hill is looking for a reliable person to work as a Spare Crossing Guard. Our Guards play an important role in keeping children safe on their way to and from school. The ideal candidate is a responsible, safety-driven, community minded person who will maintain positive public relations for the Village in delivering the school crossing guard program.
The rate of pay is $17.20 per hour, plus 4% vacation. Spares are scheduled on an on call-basis, with hours of 7:45- 9:00 AM and 2:15 - 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday during the school year.
The selection process will include an interview and background inquiry with Child Abuse Registry, Criminal Record, and Vulnerable Sector Checks.

This year’s theme, “Legacy in Action: Celebrating Black Brilliance”, recognizes the enduring legacy, excellence, and innovation of Black communities, celebrating the past while shaping the future. It highlights the strength, resilience, and brilliance that continue to inspire generations.
Let’s spotlight:
• African Heritage Month in Nova Scotia acknowledges over 400 years of Black history in the province.
• Nova Scotia is home to 52 historic African Nova Scotian communities, each with deep-rooted legacies.
• Traditional celebrations include music, storytelling, dance, and community gatherings, fostering pride and cultural appreciation.
Let’s take this time to reflect, learn, and celebrate the incredible achievements of Black Nova Scotians and the broader Black community. May this month inspire reflection, empowerment, and unity.

The January Commission in Committee meeting will be held Monday, January 13, 2025 at 7pm.
At the top of the meeting will be a presentation by Municipality of Colchester staff and consultant on Plan It Colchester (updated municipal planning strategy and land-use bylaw).
The next Commission meeting will be on the regularly scheduled date, Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at 7pm.
